In this 20-minute Christian Yoga class, we engage warrior postures along with Scripture that invite us to entrust our worries to God and receive God’s strength whatever we may be going through.
In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus tells us not to worry. Easier said than done sometimes! I have come to realize, however, that there is a difference between concern and worry. Sometimes we are right to be concerned. We are concerned because something is wrong or needs to be done and we can do something to make a difference! We can go get the test done, pay the bill, talk to the person, etc.
Worry, however, is usually related to something we cannot control or do anything about. In this case, unlike concern which leads us to action, worry simply paralyzes us. It saps the life from us without offering us anything because we cannot take any concrete action to make things better. In this case, we are invited to trust God with it.
So grab a mat or make some space on the floor and let’s stretch our bodies and our faith as we release worry and trust God!
